You and Your Child's Card
Children younger than 17 must have a parent or guardian sign their library card application. By signing the application, the parent or guardian agrees to be financially responsible for all charges associated with the child's card.
To view a child's library card record, a parent or guardian must provide the child's library card number. If more than one parent or guardian wishes view or access the child's library record, both names must be listed in the record.
Individuals 17 and older can obtain a library card without parental permission. When an individual reaches 17 years of age, Library policy and Colorado State Law requires that information contained in the library record cannot be given to anyone else without written permission from the cardholder or by court order. The Library does not hold parent(s) or guardian(s) financially responsible for charges on the card after the cardholder turns 17.
