Library Card Rules

When you apply for a library card, you agree to return borrowed materials on time, pay overdue fees and be responsible for lost or damaged items.

Your library card is valid as long as you use it at least once every three years. If three years pass without use, contact us for a new library card by completing a new online application or visit a library near you.

If your card is lost or stolen, call or stop by the Checkout/Accounts Desk at any Jefferson County Public Library location.

Book drops are open 24 hours.

Jefferson County library materials may be returned to any library in the metropolitan Denver area, but you are responsible for a book until it reaches a Jefferson County library. Therefore it is best to return Jefferson County materials to a Jefferson County library.
