Jefferson County Public Library is a lifeline to information, education and recreation for thousands. For the past 25 years, we've been careful stewards of taxpayer dollars, investing in the growth of Library facilities and services and responding to the evolving needs of Jefferson County.

Given current economic conditions, we need to find new ways to fund our programs and services and to build and operate new library facilities.

Here's how you can help:

  • Join our email list to receive regular updates and information about our budget situation and initiatives. We will be evaluating long-term strategies to secure the future of JCPL. Options may include (but would not be limited to): expanding library services; evaluating new service models; developing innovative community partnerships; seeking new sources of revenue; asking voters for an increase in the mill levy; and more. You can sign up for updates on the JCPL Website by clicking here.

  • Become an advocate for JCPL. You can help us spread the word about the value of JCPL. Talk to your friends and families; write to your elected officials; and arrange to have a member of JCPL's speaker's bureau speak to your service club or organization. Word of mouth is one of the most powerful tools for building awareness of - and support for - JCPL.

  • Introduce us to corporate and/or foundation contacts. We need the community's help to identify and secure new sources of revenue. Possible options include but would not be limited to: securing innovative corporate and foundation partnerships, raising money through charitable contributions, and reviewing other strategic alternatives. If you could assist us with personal introductions to contacts who might be willing to support us, please contact Rebecca Winning, Associate Director of Communications and Public Engagement, at 303-275-2203.

  • Become a Friend of the Library. The Friends of the Jefferson County Public Library is an organization of citizens dedicated to promoting the continued growth of public libraries and their services throughout Jefferson County. They help raise money, act as advocates, lend legislative support where needed, stimulate the use of the library's resources and services, and help focus public attention on the services, facilities, and needs of the library. You can learn more by clicking here.

  • Sponsor a major Library program or capital project.Sponsorships help us to promote early childhood literacy, support academic achievement for children and teens, provide job skills training and support for new businesses, build community and support civic engagement, provide proactive outreach to special populations and more. .

  • Donate to the Jefferson County Library Foundation. The Jefferson County Library Foundation is a nonprofit, charitable organization with tax-exempt status under Section 501(C)(3) of the IRS Code. The Foundation is not a government agency; it receives no public funding. Rather, the Foundation relies upon fundraising and private contributions. Your tax deductible donation may be offered in the form of cash, stocks and securities, life insurance, real estate, endowment funds or wills and behests. You can learn more about the Foundation by clicking here.

Help us raise $100,000 for the Library!
